VICTORVILLE, Calif.—A San Bernardino County man has been arrested for allegedly striking and killing a cable technician working in a residence.
Sheriff's officials say 45-year-old Johnny Acosta of Hesperia was captured, arrested and booked for murder Monday after fleeing his relative's Victorville home, where the attack took place.

Johnny Acosta is no stranger to violence.
He's been locked up for voluntary manslaughter, attempted rape and assault, among other things.
And on Thursday, the Hesperia man pleaded not guilty to killing a former U.S. Marine who had recently returned from his third tour in Iraq and was working as a cable technician.
Trevor Neiman, 25, was called to a San Jose Drive home in Victorville on Monday afternoon to install cable. While he was working in the living room, authorities say Acosta suddenly grabbed a ball-peen hammer and beat Neiman to death.

Three tours of duty in Iraq had left Trevor Neiman with partial hearing loss. Then he suffered stab wounds when he got caught in a fight at his housewarming party last May.

But it was the ex-Marine's job as a cable technician that led to his violent death Monday.

San Bernardino County sheriff's detectives said Neiman was suddenly -- and without provocation -- beaten from behind with a blunt object as he installed service at a Victorville home. No words were exchanged between attacker and victim, detectives said.

Family, friends and co-workers said their final goodbyes at Trevor Neiman's Memorial Service Wednesday morning at the Riverside National Cemetery. Neiman, a Marine and Iraq veteran was laid to rest with a military honors after being attacked and killed while working as a cable installer.
